Cape named MSC Pitcher of the Week for second consecutive week on Monday.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College pitcher Derek Cape is the Mid-South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Cape earned the same honor last week after throwing a no-hitter against Davenport (Mich.) University on Sunday, March, 7.

Cape turned in his second straight complete-game performance in a 2-1 win against University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on Friday, March12. The Columbia, Ky., native struck out 11 Redstorm batters while allowing just two hits and a walk in seven innings.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team dropped a pair of games today to visiting University of the Rio Grande (Ohio) at Lindsey Wilson Park.

Rio Grande (14-3, 3-1 in the Mid-South Conference) swept the doubleheader by scores of 12-8 and 7-2. Lindsey Wilson falls to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play with the losses.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- It was a pitcher's dream for innings one through six in both games of the Lindsey Wilson College and University of Rio Grande (Ohio) doubleheader tonight at Lindsey Wilson Park.

The seventh inning was a different story as the two teams split the doubleheader -- Rio Grande won game one 11-6 and Lindsey Wilson won the second game 2-1 -- on the first day of a weekend series which concludes on Saturday.

Cape helped the Blue Raiders win five straight games last week, finishing 1-0 on the mound with a no-hitter against Davenport (Mich.) University on Sunday to secure a 5-0 win.
