COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Ally Goniea was named player of the week, while Morgan Paschall earned pitcher of the week honors to give the Lindsey Wilson College softball team a sweep of the Mid-South Conference Softball weekly awards, the conference announced on Monday.

The awards are the first of the season and first career conference honors for Goniea and Paschall.

Goniea went 7-for-17 (.412) at the plate with a home run and eight RBI to take MSC Player of the Week honors.

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College pitcher Derek Cape is the Mid-South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Cape earned the same honor last week after throwing a no-hitter against Davenport (Mich.) University on Sunday, March, 7.

Cape turned in his second straight complete-game performance in a 2-1 win against University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on Friday, March12. The Columbia, Ky., native struck out 11 Redstorm batters while allowing just two hits and a walk in seven innings.

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Lindsey Wilson College cycling team posted top-five finishes in all three disciplines at DePauw (Ind.) University on March 13-14. The Blue Raiders finished second in the team time trials and criterium races and posted a fourth-place finish in the road race.

Lindsey Wilson tallied 315 points in the time trials, finishing behind Marian (Ind.) University with 425 points. The Blue Raiders posted the winning time in the men's "A" division (12 minutes and 17 seconds) and men's "D" division (13:52). Lindsey Wilson clocked in the second fastest men's "B" time of 13:23.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday and beat its Sunday opponent at the AUM Spring Tennis Invitational.

The Blue Raiders topped 19th ranked Xavier (La.) University 5-0, and then lost to 10th ranked Oklahoma Christian University 5-2 on Saturday. Lindsey Wilson beat Huntingdon (Ala.) College 7-2 on Sunday to wrap up play in the invitational.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The 21st ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to seventh ranked Oklahoma Christian University on Saturday at the Auburn University-Montgomery Spring Tennis Invitational.

Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos were edged at No. 1 doubles by Martin Poboril and Etinenne Leite 8-6, while Freddy Luciani and Marlon Dalpont also came close to registering a win for the Blue Raiders at No. 2 doubles falling to Thomas Van Carter and Renardy Guelfi 8-4.
