Katie Hartney tallied seven team points for the Blue Raiders in a pair of throwing events
RICHMOND, Ky. -- Competing against competition from all levels of the NCAA and NAIA, the Lindsey Wilson College women's track & field team finished 10th on Friday night in the Eastern Kentucky University Open at the Tom Samuels Track.
Teams earned points for top-eight individual finishes and the Blue Raiders racked up 16 points to finish in 10th place. Bellarmine (Ky.) won the open with 140 points, Eastern Kentucky took second with 134 and Marshall rounded out the top three with 73.
Thrower Katie Hartney racked up the most points for Lindsey Wilson, tallying seven in two events.
Hartney finished fourth in the discus throw for five points on a toss of 34.76m/114-0.5 and seventh in the hammer throw, earning two points for a throw of 38.96m/127-9.85.
Ruth Olson finished in the top-10 twice in a pair of hurdle events.
Olson earned four team points after finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of one minute and 6.07 seconds. Olson was ninth in the 100-hurdles after crossing in 16 seconds flat.
Maria Sanchez scored the final team points for the Blue Raiders, taking seventh place in the 800-run for two points with a time of 2:23.28.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on April 27-28 in the Mid-South Conference Championships in Rome, Ga.
