COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior Jessica Weyreuter went 1-0 during the first week of the fifth ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis season to earn Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.

Weyreuter earns the first weekly conference award of the season despite the Blue Raiders falling as a team to Shorter (Ga.) College last week.

The Montecarlo, Argentina native won her No. 2 singles match in straight sets against Shorter's Michaela Tingets.

Weyreuter won 6-1, 6-0, giving the Blue Raiders their only win of the match in the 5-1 loss to No. 18 Shorter.

In doubles play, Weyreuter teamed with Salca Milanovic as the No. 1 seed for an 8-3 loss to Tingets and Danielle Monteith.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at noon CT on Tuesday, March 9 at Union (Ky.) College.
