COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's soccer teams resume play in the NAIA National Championship today with a pair of second round games.

Starting at 1:30 p.m. CT, the Blue Raider men face Bellevue (Neb.) University in Fresno, Calif., followed by the women at 4 p.m. against Southern Nazarene (Okla.) University in Decatur, Ala.

Both Lindsey Wilson teams are the top-overall seeds in their respective brackets.

The men beat Lee (Tenn.) University 2-0 and the women topped Missouri Baptist College by the same score in opening round action at Walter S. Reuling Stadium on Nov. 21.

Bellevue, which beat Bethel (Ind.) College 2-0 in its first-round contest, enters today's game with a 14-3-1 record. The Blue Raider's have never faced the Bruins in the regular or postseason.

The Bruins are led by Mark Heath-Preston with 13 goals and seven assists for 33 points on the season. Bellevue keeper Sebastian Narvaez has collected 73 saves while allowing just 12 goals for a 0.74 goals-against average.

Heath-Preston ranks ninth in the NAIA in game-winning goals per game (0.310) and 10th in total game-winning goals with five. As a team, the Bruins rank 18th in the country in shots per game with an 18.6 average.

Southern Nazarene (17-3-1) advanced to face with Blue Raider women with a 4-1 decision over Texas Brownsville on Nov. 21. Jackie Acevedo netted a hat trick to lead the Storm into the second round.

Lindsey Wilson is 1-0 all-time against Southern Nazarene, winning the only meeting 2-0 in the NAIA National Tournament opening round on Nov. 15, 2007 in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Acevedo leads the Storm's attack, scoring 20 goals and dishing out 17 assists for 57 points on the season. Acevedo ranks in the top 10 of seven NAIA statistical categories. The junior is fourth in total assists, fifth in total points and 10th in total goals.
