LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College bowling team struggled to finish frames strong, finishing 16th at the Kentucky State Collegiate Tournament on Sunday, Sept. 27.
The Blue Raiders had three bowlers finish in the 60's individually in the field of 99. Senior William Hollon led the way in 65th place, followed by classmate Josh Curtsinger in 66th place. Freshman Josh Greene rounded out the Lindsey Wilson bowlers finishing 68th.
"Picking up spares was a big problem for us over the weekend," said Lindsey Wilson coach Mike Mantooth. "Those are shots that we normally pick up during practice."
The competitors played five team games and 16 Baker games in the tournament.
"We have some room for improvement," admitted Mantooth. "I feel as if the guys are looking forward to getting better each and every week."
The team will get that chance at 9:30 a.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Green River Classic in Campbellsville, Ky., at Phillips Lanes.
