EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. -- Lindsey Wilson College senior Koji Hashiyama finished 12th in the Men's Marathon at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships.

Hashiyama finished the marathon in a time of 2 hours, 40 minutes and 15 seconds. He missed the program's record by three minutes set in 1995.

A native of Tokyo, Japan, Hashiyama concludes his career with his third consecutive national marathon. This season's 12th place finish is his best finish. He finished 18th (2:38.41) in 2008 and 32nd (2:47.54) in 2007.

Black Hills State (S.D.) University senior won the national championship with a time of 2:28.27.

The Blue Raider men's track and field team finished tied for 58th after scoring two points in the Race Walk. Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University won the team championship with 80 points.

During the championships, Lindsey Wilson junior Brad Bilbro was named NAIA Daktronics-NAIA Track and Field Scholar-Athlete for maintaining a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and being at least a junior academic standing.
